TULSA – Oral Roberts women’s basketball head coach Jerry Finkbeiner announced the signing of Amy Moody to a National Letter of Intent on Tuesday.

“Amy will bring us more athleticism at the guard spot,” said Finkbeiner. “She plays at arguably the best women’s basketball program in Texas, so she has a great high school pedigree and background. She’s really a combo guard because she can do a little bit of everything.”

Moody, a 5-10 guard from Arlington, Texas, starred at Mansfield Summit High School, leading the Jaguars to the 2009 Texas 5A state title, along with two semifinal appearances and one regional final appearance during her four seasons.

Moody averaged 11.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.0 steals per game this past season as the Jaguars reached the regional finals and posted a 26-9 record.

Moody was named all-state as a senior by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, and earned a spot on the TGCA all-star team. Moody also earned all-region honors by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) and was selected first-team all-district as a junior and senior.

Moody also lettered four years in volleyball, earning MVP honors at Mansfield Summit. Moody was named academic all-state in both basketball and volleyball.

ORU welcomes three signees for the upcoming 2010-11 season, as Moody joins Amber Carver (6-5, Lufkin, Texas) and Christian Key (5-10, Tulsa, Okla.).
