Zierleyn Earns Win as ORU Falls to No. 51 Arkansas

The freshman from Germany knocked off Santiago Munoz, 7-5, 7-6 (7-1) in the top flight. The victory was the lone triumph for ORU (0-6) on a day where the Razorbacks (9-3) won the other seven completed matches.
Arkansas opened the day by taking the doubles point. Munoz and Hall Fess knocked off Jason Mechali and Pedro Moreno in the top flight, while Zierleyn and Nathaniel Avery fell to Mike Nott and Victor Hoang in the second flight. Both final scores were 8-3.
Zierleyn won the feature court match in the singles competition, but ORU fell on the other five courts. Mike Ward dropped Mechali in the second flight, 6-3, 6-1, and Hoang edged Moreno on court three, 6-1, 6-0.
In the fourth flight, Fess topped Parker Allen, 6-2, 6-1, and Thomason took down Avery on court five, 6-0, 6-0. The final match, on court six, belonged to Christian Lee, as he outfought Braxton Bates, 6-1, 6-4.
ORU returns to action on Saturday, February 23, when they hit the road to face UMKC.
