Baseball travels to Wichita State on Wednesday
TULSA, Okla. – Despite not playing the scheduled game on Tuesday at Kansas due to weather, the Oral Roberts baseball team hits the road on Wednesday as they travel to Wichita State for a 6:30 p.m. start.
The Golden Eagles (13-24, 8-7 SLC) are coming off a series victory in Huntsville, Texas, over Sam Houston State, while the Shockers (23-18, 9-3 MVC) took two of three from Evansville. WSU plays at Oklahoma State on Tuesday evening.
ORU and WSU have been common opponents in recent years, facing off in 57 games with the Shockers holding a series lead, 31-26. Since 2009, the Golden Eagles are 5-2 against the Shockers at Eck Stadium.
Wednesday marks the third contest between the two programs this season, with the Shockers taking the first game in Tulsa, 5-4, and defeating the Golden Eagles two weeks later in Wichita, 8-1. In the two contests, Casey Gillaspie has led the WSU offense with three hits, including a double and a triple.
Kevin Cho has had the most success in the previous two games for the Golden Eagles, hitting .500 against the Shockers. Nate Goro carries momentum into the game after hitting .417 with a pair of doubles at Sam Houston State.
Garrett Bayliff has been a consistent bat in the WSU lineup as he leads the team with a .353 average.
