Diamond Dinner Scheduled for January 31

TULSA, Okla. - Hall of Fame pitcher Gaylord Perry is the featured speaker as the Oral Roberts University baseball team hosts their annual Diamond Dinner on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Tulsa Marriott Southern Hills. The silent auction begins at 6 pm, with dinner and the evening’s program beginning at 6:30.

VIP tables, which include prime seating for eight guests and a celebrity, along with VIP room access, cost $1,000. Tables are also available for $500, which includes seating for eight along with an ORU baseball student-athlete.

Perry pitched in the majors for 22 seasons and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991. A native of Williamston, N.C., Perry won 314 career games and was a five-time MLB All-Star. He was the 1972 American League Cy Young Award winner while pitching for the Cleveland Indians, and he earned the National League Cy Young Award in 1978 while pitching for the San Diego Padres.

ORU’s 2014 baseball schedule begins on February 14, 2014, when they host Southeast Missouri State.
