Bonde Advances to Finals of 200-Meter Dash in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. – Marvin Bonde raced to a seventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash preliminaries on Thursday to earn USTFCCA All-America honors and advance to the finals at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

Bonde clocked a time of 20.86 in the event to place seventh out of 23 competitors and advance to the final round of eight held on Saturday.

The junior from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, earned his first-career All-America honor and became the 10th Outdoor All-American in ORU history and the 18th overall. Senior Rachel Talbert earned All-America status on Wednesday, marking the fourth time in the last five seasons that two or more Golden Eagles have garnered the accolade in the same outdoor season.
