TULSA—Former Oral Roberts shortstop Tyler Saladino has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Midwest Region first team, the organization announced today.

Saladino, who signed with the Chicago White Sox earlier this week after they selected him in the seventh round of the 2010 MLB Draft, is now eligible for ABCA All-America honors. The All-America team will be announced later this week at the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.

In his only season with the Golden Eagles, Saladino batted .379 with 18 home runs and 76 RBI while playing all 63 games. He added 16 doubles and 16 stolen bases, scoring a team-high 75 runs.

In Summit League play, the league’s player and newcomer of the year hit at a .491-11-50 clip in 28 games.
