Des Moines, IA-Oral Roberts sophomore Jack Whitt put an exclamation point on a stellar sophomore campaign Wednesday afternoon at the NCAA outdoor track and field championships.

Whitt claimed second overall in pole vault, jumping a 5.35m (17.65 ft), and falling just short of first place Scott Roth (Washington), who turned in a 5.40m (17.85 ft).

With the second place finish, Whitt earns his second all-American nod of the year, as the 6'4" sophomore snagged third overall in the indoor championships with a 5.45m jump.

Whitt logged a personal-best of 5.60m (18' 4.5") on April 6 at the Texas Relays, a jump that currently stands as the second-best in the NCAA this season. He also earned all-league for both the indoor and outdoor seasons, and was named Summit Indoor Track Athlete of the Year.
