Mickey Miller joins the ORU men's soccer program as a graduate assistant for the 2011 season. Miller comes to ORU from Booker T. Washington, where he was the head coach, taking over a team that hadn't made the playoffs in three years. In just his second year, the team won the state championship.

Miller continued to take Booker T. to the state championship game in the following two years. Under Miller's tutelage, 10 players earned all-state recognition. He was named the All-State Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2010. During that time, Miller also coached the NSCAA State Player of the Year, and NSCAA Academic All-American and an ESPN Rise All-American.

Miller played collegiately at Valparaiso University, where the Crusaders knocked off nationally-ranked teams in Bradley and Oregon State. As a prep player, Miller participated on the Region III ODP team with Clint Dempsey and Ricardo Clark, and was coached by Gary Williamson. He attended international festivals with the team from 1997-200 and also participated with Adidas ESP. An alumnus of Tulsa Thunder 83, Miller helped the team win the club’s first state championship.

He holds his USSF B license and an FA level I license. He earned his bachelor of business administration degree from Valparaiso in 2005 and has been teaching economics and history at Booker T. Washington for the past five years.
