TULSA, Okla. - Oral Roberts University looks to reverse a recent slide when they return home to face Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday night in a Southland Conference match. First serve at the Cooper Aerobics Center on the ORU campus is scheduled for 7 pm CT.

Oral Roberts (4-9, 0-2 SLC) enters Thursday’s tilt on a seven-match losing streak, their longest skid since a 10-match losing streak to end the 1992 season. ORU’s latest setback came on September 15, a 3-0 sweep at the hands of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Golden Eagles hit just .009 in the loss, with Bruna Silva’s 18-dig effort being the lone bright spot.

Prior to the setback in Corpus Christi, ORU opened SLC play with a 3-0 loss to Sam Houston State on September 13. Tatum Fredeen posted a team-high nine kills in the loss, while Silva’s 16 digs led all players.

ORU’s last victory was a 3-0 sweep of Austin Peay on September 1, while their only prior home match came on September 4, a 3-2 loss to Tulsa.

ORU’s next victory will be a milestone occasion for Head Coach Sheera Sirola. With one more win, Sirola will become the first head coach in ORU program history to record 175 total victories and 100 victories against conference opponents.

Sirola is already the all-time career wins leader in both ORU and Summit League history.

Southeastern Louisiana (5-5, 1-1 SLC) have recovered from a 1-3 start to get back to .500 heading into Thursday's match. The Lions topped McNeese State on September 13, 3-1, before falling to Lamar in five sets two days later.

Senior middle blocker Courtney Donald averages a team-best 4.06 kills per set and hits at a .385 clip through 10 matches. Defensively, the Lions are led by junior Megan McMillin, who averages 4.67 digs per set, while Donald has a team-best 20 total blocks, including three solo efforts.

Southeastern Louisiana was picked last by both the coaches and media relations personnel in the SLC’s Preseason Polls, while the Golden Eagles were picked second in both polls.

ORU has never before faced Southeastern Louisiana.

SLC play continues for the Golden Eagles on Saturday, September 22, when they host Nicholls State. Match time is scheduled for 3 pm CT.
