NORMAN, Okla. - Three Oral Roberts women runners swept the medal stand in the 60 meter and 200 meter dash at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational, as the Golden Eagles teams recorded 11 top three finishes on Saturday.
Cornesha Wilkerson, Tamaira Williams and Victoria Reynolds took center stage on the afternoon, finishing 1-2-3 in the 60 meter dash. Wilkerson crossed the finish line with a time of 7.70, while freshman Williams crossed at the 7.77 mark and Reynolds finished shortly after at 7.80.
The three runners finished in the same order in the 200 meter as well on Saturday with times of 25.43, 25.90 and 26.73, respectively.
In the women's 400 meter, Maisha Mitchell took the top mark, crossing the line just under a minute at 59.28, for her top time of the season.
The women's pole vault event also proved to very successful for the Golden Eagles at the event held at Oklahoma's indoor facility, placing the top two collegiate jumpers for the second and third spots. Junior Lauren McFarland took second with a height of 3.85 (12-7.5), while Daniella Szabo finished in third at 3.75 (12-3.5).
Tim Jones brought home a medal in the men's triple jump, finishing as the top collegiate jumper with a distance of 14.76 (48-5.25).
Up next for the ORU track and field athletes is a return to Oklahoma for the Oklahoma Duels next Saturday. They will then head back for the third straight weekend on Feb. 22 and 23 for the Southland Conference Indoor Championships.
