Marizanne Bouwer earned ORU's lone point of the day in a loss to South Alabama

Sophomore Marizanne Bouwer earned the lone point of the day for the Golden Eagles, a 6-0, 7-5 decision over USA’s Mariya Krachok at No. 2 singles.
The Jaguars (6-3) won all three doubles matches. Mchaela Meszarosova and Emily Newton knocked off Tori Dollar and Haley Martin at the top spot, 8-4, and Krachok teamed with Ramona Ghermani to down Rachel Scroggs and Marizanne Bouwer on court two, 8-3. On the third court, Mary Angela Martin and Cinta Maria Papke teamed to knock off Melanie Marlin and Natalia Dollar, 8-2.
On the top singles court, Martin took the first set from Meszarosova, 7-6 (7-4), before the match was halted in progress. Bouwer earned ORU’s lone point with a win on the second court.
South Alabama took the final four singles courts. Newton defeated Tori Dollar, 6-0, 6-2, on the third court, and the fourth flight went to Ghermani with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Natalia Dollar.
Paula Sanchez took down Scroggs on the fifth court, 6-2, 6-2, and Papke completed the win with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph over Brittany Smith on court six.
ORU returns to Southland Conference action on Friday, March 8, when they host Southeastern Louisiana at 1 pm CT.
