TULSA, Okla.-Former East Central standout Drew Wilson has joined the Oral Roberts University men’s basketball team, it was announced Tuesday.
“We are excited about Drew joining our program,” said Head Coach Scott Sutton. He is a tremendous athlete and great person. He will be a great asset to our team.”
Wilson (6-7, 217) played in 31 games as a redshirt freshman for the Bears, making 18 starts. He averaged 2.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. He was one of only two freshmen in the Missouri Valley Conference to have more than 100 rebounds last season.
Originally from Tulsa, Wilson averaged a double-double in high school with 15.7 points and 12.4 rebounds per game as a senior. He was rated by ESPN.com as the No. 6 overall senior in the state of Oklahoma and the No. 94 overall power forward in the nation. He participated in the Faith 7 All-Star game and was also a Tulsa Channel 8 Elite 8 selection, as well as an all-metro selection.
