TULSA, Okla.-Glenn Smith, who served as Oral Roberts University’s first athletic trainer, has been inducted into the Oklahoma Athletic Trainer’s Association Hall of Fame. In a ceremony at the George Nigh Center in Edmond, Okla., Smith was joined in the 2013 class by Jim Hillis, current director of rehabilitation at the University of Oklahoma.
Having served as athletic trainer at ORU from 1972-2010, Smith was a member of the ORU Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2010.
He continues to serve as a member of the faculty at ORU, a position he has held since 1987. Smith is also the executive director of the ORU Varsity Club and is the vice president of the Golden Eagle Club, giving him more than 42 years on staff at ORU.
