This is the 13th of 15 editions of the Top Moments from 2012-13 as selected by the ORU Media Relations Department and a social media poll.

TULSA, Okla. – One of the most decorated athletes ever to wear the Blue and Gold at Oral Roberts University, pole vaulter Jack Whitt finished his career with a pair of national runner-up finishes in 2012-13, earning NCAA First Team All-American honors for the sixth and seventh time.

Whitt also qualified to represent Team USA in the 2013 IAAF World Championships, held in Moscow in August.

At ORU, Whitt finished as an NCAA National Champion, a two-time Texas Relays champion and an eight-time conference champion, having never lost a conference championship, indoor or outdoor. As a senior, Whitt became the first ORU pole vaulter to ever win the historic Kansas Relays as well.

He holds the indoor and outdoor records for both the Summit League and Southland Conference, and was an alternate for Team USA in the 2012 Olympic Games.

Three times Whitt was named the Summit League Athlete of the Month, and he was also selected as one of the league’s top-30 contributors as part of its 30th anniversary celebration.

Whitt’s runner-up finish at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships helped ORU to a top-20 finish, the highest of any Oklahoma school, and tied the best finish at the outdoor meet under Coach Joe Dial
