ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Tom Adams helped the Oral Roberts University men to a halftime lead, but it wasn’t enough as the Golden Eagles fell to No. 15 Saint Louis 3-1 on the road in the season opener.

A perennial powerhouse in men’s soccer, the Billikens held the Golden Eagles at bay much of the first half, not a allowing a shot attempt most of the half. However, that changed with 1:01 remaining before halftime when freshman Matthew Rogers found Adams for a 1-0 lead.

Six minutes into the second half, David Graydon picked up the first of two assists on the night with a cross to Francisco Vizcaino for the equalizer. His second helper of the evening came on the game-winner in the 83rd minute as Kingsley Bryce put in the goal on a fast break.

Robert Kristo scored the third goal of the match for the Billikens three minutes later.

Adams finished the match with two shots, both on target, to lead the Golden Eagles. Wayne Farmer and Johnny Chavez also added a shot on goal each.

Keeper Ben LaCourse recorded three saves in the loss.

ORU will be back in action at home on Monday as they host Houston Baptist at 7 p.m. at the Case Soccer Complex.
