TULSA, Okla. – After more than a week off from action, the Oral Roberts University men’s soccer team is set for a home match on Monday against Mid-American Christian at 7 p.m. at the Case Soccer Complex.
The Golden Eagles enter the match with an 0-4 record after dropping a pair of disappointing loss on the road last weekend. After falling to Central Arkansas on Sept. 6, 1-0, ORU looked poised to come home with a win against Memphis. The Golden Eagles had a 1-0 lead heading into the final stretch, but the Tigers put in a pair of goals in the final five minutes for the 2-1 victory.
Ben LaCourse has played well between the posts for the Golden Eagles, recording 15 saves.
Monday’s match marks the first time the Mid-America Christian Evangels has taken the field on the road. After three matches, the Evangels hold a 2-1 record.
On Saturday, MACU rolled past Southwestern College, 6-0. There were six separate goal scorers in the match, with junior Raphael Bonelle, freshman Marcelo Lima and Jesus Munoz picking up both goals and assists.
Bonelle leads the Evangels with three goals, while Lima and Kevin Cabello each have two goals. Sophomore Tyler McIntosh has played every minute in goal, recording 11 saves.
Monday’s matchup will be the first time ORU has faced off with the visitors from Oklahoma City.
