Women's Golf Wins 15th Consecutive Conference Title
PRIMM, Nevada-In the closest conference tournament in Summit League history, the Oral Roberts women's golf team kept its streak of consecutive conference championships alive winning the 15th in a row with a four-shot victory over North Dakota State. The Golden Eagles shot 298 in the final round, giving them a final tally of 909 (297-314-298, +45).
The 909 fired by the Golden Eagles is the second-best score in conference history, only bested by the 902 shot by ORU in the 2006 championships. During their run of 15-consecutive championships, only twice has the margin of victory been less than 27 shots, with the Golden Eagles prevailing by six shots over UMKC in 1999.
Kylie Bollenbach and Crystal Reeves each finished with their best rounds of the tournament, as Bollenbach fired a 73 on Tuesday to move into a tie for 13th overall at 230 (75-82-73, +14). Reeves shot 74 in the final round, giving her a 233 (77-82-74, +17) for the tournament, tying her for 18th overall.
Eve Santillan rounded out the ORU finishers with a 244 (80-83-81, +28) tournament score, finishing tied for 37th overall.
Amy Anderson from North Dakota State took home individual medalist honors for the second year in a row with a 218.
