ORU Inks Four Newcomers in Early Signing Period

“This class with help us increase our overall speed and athleticism, and they will be a big part of our identity as we graduate a strong senior class in 2013,” Cussen added.
Balla is a 6-2 shooting guard out of Pecs, Hungary. She led her prep team, PTE Babits Mihaly, to 3rd place at the 2012 Hungarian Championship, and she also played for the Hungarian National Team at the 2012 FIBA U18 European Championship. She is the daughter of Attila and Krisztina Balla and the sister of ORU sophomore forward Bernadett Balla.
Matlock is a native of Fayetteville, Ark. The 6-1 forward led Fayetteville High School to a State Championship in 2011, when she was named her team’s Newcomer of the Year. She also participates in track & field at Fayetteville, and she is the daughter of Robin Matlock.
Ogden is a 5-4 point guard from Denton, Texas. The daughter of James and Lisa Parks, Ogden was named the Texas District 5-4A MVP in 2011 and 2012, and she has led Billy Ryan High School to three straight District Championships and a Regional title.
Wilson, out of nearby Muskogee, led Muskogee High School to the OSSAA 6A State Tournament in 2012. The 5-8 guard is the daughter of RuDel and Sheri Wilson.
“It is going to be a joy to coach this class,” added Cussen. “I am very excited to see how they mesh with our returning squad next season.”
ORU is 1-0 on the 2012-13 season after downing Tulsa, 64-53, in the PSO Mayor’s Cup game on November 9. The Golden Eagles face UT-Arlington on Friday, November 16, with tip-off scheduled for 2 pm CT.
