TULSA, Okla.-The Oral Roberts men's basketball team will host Lamar in a Southland Conference Contest on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. inside the Mabee Center. During halftime of the game, ORU will honor former All-American Mark Acres as they raise his number 42 jersey to the rafters.

ORU and Lamar have met 14 times dating back to 1970. Most recently, the two teams traded a home-and-home series in 2006 and 2007, with ORU taking both contests. ORU holds a 10-4 advantage in the all time standings and has won three straight games. The Golden Eagles are 6-2 against the Cardinals inside the Mabee Center.
Acres was a member of the 1981 USA Basketball Olympic Festival Team, and led ORU to the NCAA Tournament in 1983-84 and was the conference player of the year. He was drafted 40th overall in the 1985 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks and spent eight years in the NBA. Acres is one of just seven players in ORU history to score at least 2,000 career points and ranks in the top 10 in 10 different career statistical categories, including points, rebounds and blocks. He remains the only player to have led the team in scoring and rebounding in all four seasons.
