TULSA, Okla.-This weekend could have major implications in the final Southland Conference standings, as the top three teams in the league face off for the second time. Oral Roberts split home games against the pair, beating Northwestern State before falling to Stephen F. Austin, but will have to get all-important road wins in order to stay atop the conference.
ORU is currently tied with SFA for first in the Southland, while Northwestern State is just one game back in third, but the three teams have seemingly separated themselves from the rest of the conference. The Golden Eagles will play Northwestern State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Prather Coliseum in Natchitoches, La.
Thursday's game will be broadcast live in the Tulsa area on 97.1 FM "The Sports Animal." Free audio will also be provided at www.ORUGoldenEagles.com.
ORU and Northwestern State face off on Thursday with the two teams holding the longest winning streaks in the Southland Conference (ORU-6, NSU 4). ORU took the previous meeting 80-74 in Tulsa, the only win in four tries against the Demons.
