TULSA, Okla.-A three-time state qualifier, local product Abby Hoover has signed to run cross country and track for Oral Roberts University it was announced by the ORU coaching staff on Thursday.

Hoover, who recently completed an outstanding senior cross country season at Sapulpa High School, finished third overall at the 76th Annual OSU Cowboy Jamboree, a meet that is widely regarded as one of the most competitive high school races in the area.

"Abby is a great addition to our team," said Coach Evan Blackburn. "She was a starter for the Sapulpa girls' basketball team for three years before she decided to focus solely on running for her senior year, and that decision has paid off with tremendously faster times.  She is very competitive and will help our program out tremendously.  We are very happy to have Abby join the Golden Eagle Cross Country/Track and Field family."

In addition to earning 2012 All-Metro Cross Country Athlete of the Year honors from the Tulsa World, Hoover won the Frontier Conference Championship, finished second in the 6A State Championships, third in the Oklahoma vs. Arkansas All-Star Meet.
