AMES, Iowa - On a split weekend for the Oral Roberts track teams, senior runner Jeffery Gibson made a statement in the Iowa State Classic on Friday.

Gibson, a native of Freeport, Bahamas, recorded his best time as a Golden Eagle in the 200 meter dash, non-seeded, at the meet. He crossed the finish line at the 21.54 mark, walking away with the victory.

It was Gibson's first victory in the 200 meter this season, winning two earlier season meets in the 400 meter.

Other Golden Eagle athletes will compete in the second day of the Iowa State Classic. The ORU track and field teams are split this weekend, with others competing at the Tyson Invitational and the OC Invite #2.
