EL PASO, Texas – Three Oral Roberts pole vaulters made the track to south Texas over the weekend, each returning to Tulsa with medals from the UTEP Springtime.
Lauren McFarland continues her winning ways, taking her second victory in as many meets this outdoor season. McFarland cleared a height of 3.97 meters (13-0.25) en route to the victory.
Much like McFarland, Jack Whitt earned his second victory of the outdoor season, winning the UTEP Springtime easily by clearing a height of 5.54 (17-10.50). Whitt cleared to more marks than the second place finisher, and teammate, Dustin Gehrke who had a mark of 5.35 meters (17-6.50).
Gehrke’s mark was his outdoor collegiate best.
ORU track and field athletes are at it again next week as they participate in one of the biggest meets in the nation, the Texas Relays in Austin.
