TULSA, Okla.-With spring practice underway and midterms looming, the ORU men’s soccer program found time to get away from it all and visit with local families at the St. Francis Children’s Hospital last month.
“It was really fun to interact with the patients and their families,” said ORU freshman Javier Reyes, who was one of those who volunteered. “It was nice that they could forget about their illness and feel like a regular kid or teenager again.”
The Golden Eagles used their time to visit multiple patient rooms, talking and laughing with the families as well as those being treated for various illnesses. The team also had a little fun, playing Just Dance with a patient in the St. Francis game room.
