Senior Trio Named to SLC All-Academic Team

FRISCO, Texas - Oral Roberts University seniors Jessica Pancratz, Bruna Silva and Laura Taylor were named to the Southland Conference Volleyball All-Academic 1st Team, the league office announced today. ORU is one of two schools, along with Northwestern State, to place three student-athletes on the team.

Pancratz finished with a 3.69 GPA in environmental sustainability. She earned 2nd Team All-Southland honors for her play on the court after ranking 3rd in the league with a .322 hitting percentage. A Tulsa native, Pancratz finished her career with 353 total blocks, fifth-most in ORU history.

Silva posted a 3.69 GPA in computer information technology. The two-time conference player of the year was a 1st Team All-Southland selection as a senior, when she ranked second in the league with 5.19 digs per set. The Rio de Janeiro native ended her career with 2,164 digs, second-most in ORU program history.

Taylor, a math major, had a 3.66 GPA. The Broken Arrow native finished her career with 3,961 career assists, an ORU program record. She averaged 10.27 assists per set in her senior season, ranking fifth in the Southland Conference.

ORU’s seniors led the Golden Eagles to a 22-7 record in 2013. For their careers, they posted two 20-win seasons, played in two conference tournament championship matches, and combined for ten all-conference awards.
