Women’s Golf Captures Jackrabbit Invitational; Men Finish Fifth

Oral Roberts women’s golf fired a final round 287 to win the 14-team Jackrabbit Invitational, Tuesday at Primm Valley Golf Course in Primm, Nev.

The men’s squad finished fifth out of 14 teams.

Four players finished play in the top 10 in helping the women’s squad to its second straight tournament victory.

The Golden Eagles finished the three-round tournament with an overall team score of 872 (295-290-287), easily out-distancing second place Missouri State (883) by 11 strokes.

Amber Hensley led the way for ORU, finishing third overall at plus-4 217 (77-70-70). Eve Santillan enjoyed her best outing of the year, finishing tied for fourth at 219 (76-73-70).

Alheli Moreno and Crystal Reeves both tied for seventh at 222. Moreno shot 73-74-75, while Reeves completed play with rounds of 74-76-72.

Tiffany Robbins finished in a five-way tie for 14th at 225 (72-73-80).

On the men’s side, ORU shot a three-round total of 291-279-288. UMKC won team honors by shooting 827.

Kyle Spencer took top honors among Golden Eagles golfers, finishing tied for 11th by shooting 6-under par 210 (75-66-69). Teammate Shannon Allen finished 13th at 5-under 211 (70-70-71).

Jake Spencer tied for 28th at 218 (72-74-72), while David Holtgrewe tied for 30th at 219 (74-69-75).

Billy Barbour finished tied for 68th at229 (78-74-77).

Both teams next play in tournaments at UALR, March 28-29.
