Women's Golf Ready for 12th NCAA Regional Appearance
TULSA, Okla.-Despite 11 consecutive trips to the NCAA Women's Golf Regionals, 2012 marks the first time in which the Oral Roberts women's golf team has been sent to the East Regional, taking on the Penn State Blue Course in State College, Pa.
The three-day tournament begins May 10 and includes 24 teams. Highlighting the regional are Alabama, Arizona State, Duke, Texas A&M, Florida, Arizona, Oklahoma State and South Carolina.
Michigan State, Washington, Texas, Tulane, UCF, Wake Forest, Northwestern, San Diego State, Augusta State and Maryland are also in the regional along with fellow automatic qualifiers Kent State (MAC), Campbell (Big South), Chattanooga (Southern), Jacksonville State (Ohio Valley) and LIU Brooklyn (Northeast).
This season, Alheli Moreno and Tiffany Robbins were each named to the All-Tournament Team, while Lance Watson won Coach of the Year honors for the 12th year in a row. Additionally, Moreno and Crystal Reeves earned first team All-Summit League honors, while Kylie Bollenbach and Eve Santillan earned second team All-Summit League honors this year.
The Golden Eagles will be paired with Jacksonville State and LIU Brooklyn for the first round, teeing off the 10th hole starting at 12:55 p.m. on Thursday. Live results for all three regional events can be found through www.GolfStat.com.
