TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts University’s search for their first win continues on Friday as the Golden Eagles host Rogers State at the Case Soccer Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m., weather permitting.
ORU enters the contest with an 0-4-1 record after recording a scoreless draw on Monday evening against Mid-America Christian. The Golden Eagles had several opportunities, but were unable to convert around the net. Ben LaCourse stood out in the contest, recording five saves between the posts, giving the sophomore 20 for the season.
The Hillcats (1-2) of Rogers State are coming off a tough double-overtime loss against John Brown on Tuesday, 2-1. RSU jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead as Serbian sophomore Danko Kenjic scored a goal in the 12th minute.
ORU defeated John Brown 1-0 during exhibition action on Aug. 20.
In their lone victory this season against Ouchita Baptist, 2-1, on Sept. 14, Mathew Kokis and Niall Masterson scored goals for the Hillcats. Senior Necas Collins led the Hillcats last season with 11 goals.
The last time the two squads faced off on the pitch was at the Case Soccer Complex in 2010. The Hillcats were victorious in the matchup, 1-0.
