TULSA, Okla. – After ensuring a spot in the Summit League tournament on Saturday, the Oral Roberts University men’s soccer team looks to extend its unbeaten streak to three matches on Monday as they host Central Arkansas. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Case Soccer Complex.

ORU (5-6-1, 3-1-0) got a goal from Wayne Farmer with nine seconds remaining in regulation on Saturday to lift the Golden Eagles over Omaha, 2-1. The win clinched a Golden Eagle berth in the Summit League Tournament for the third time in four seasons having reached the championship game in 2010 and 2011.

With two conference matches remaining, the Golden Eagles are currently in second place in conference, a game behind Denver. ORU and Denver will face off in a game that could decide the regular season conference championship at 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Case Soccer Complex.

Edgardo Mira, who scored the first goal of the match against Omaha in the 25th minute, leads the Golden Eagles with four goals.  Isaac Sandoval has been strong in the net for ORU as he has allowed three goals in the five matches he has started. The combination of Sandoval and Ben LaCourse has combined for a .808 save percentage this season.

Defense was a focal point entering the season for first-year Head Coach Ryan Bush, and the Golden Eagles have answered by allowing just 15 goals, one more than conference leading Denver.

After starting the season 3-1, including a 1-0 shutout over the Golden Eagles on Sept. 6, Central Arkansas is 1-8-1 in their last 10 matches. The Bears have been shutout in consecutive contests, including a 2-0 loss at Missouri State last Wednesday and a 1-0 loss versus Evansville on Saturday.

Freshman Wes Carson has been a bright spot on the UCA offense with seven goals in his rookie campaign, while Logan Miller, who netted the game-winner in first matchup with ORU, is second on the squad with four goals this season.

An ORU victory would be the first against UCA in four matches. The Bears lead the all-time series five games to three.
