Hernandez named to NSCAA All-Midwest Region Third Team
TULSA, Okla. – Marco Hernandez picked up another postseason honor as he was named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Midwest Region Third Team forward, the organization announced on Tuesday.
A native of Claremore, Okla., Hernandez played a key role in the Golden Eagles’ turnaround season as he netted goals against Western Illinois on Oct. 12 and Central Arkansas on Oct. 28. He also added three assists in his senior campaign, including an assist on a Matt Rogers golden goal against Fort Wayne and on the Wayne Farmer game-winner with nine seconds remaining at Omaha.
At the Summit League Men’s Soccer Awards Banquet in November, Hernandez earned All-Summit League Second Team recognition. Hernandez joined Denver’s Zach Bolden and Theo Remnan, each First Team members, in representing the Summit League on the NSCAA All-Midwest teams.
ORU completed the season with a 6-8-4 overall record and finished as conference runner-ups with a 3-2-1 mark. For more information updates on the men’s soccer program, follow the Golden Eagles at @ORUMensSoccer on Twitter, and on www.ORUGoldenEagles.com.
