ST. LOUIS, Mo.-St. Louis downed Oral Roberts 5-2 in a men's soccer match, Friday at Hermann Stadium.
The Billikens (1-1-1) scored the game's first four goals. Jimmy Holmes (25, 50), Alex Sweetin (29), and Christian Briggs (44) helped SLU race to a 4-0 lead.
ORU (2-2-0) got on the board when Jarrett Hamilton scored his team-best third goal of the season off an assist from Kalen Ryden in the 55th minute.
The Golden Eagles closed to within 4-2 on a John David Adams goal in the 86th minute, but St. Louis put the game away when Adnan Gabeljic tallied the final score in the 90th minute.
Andrew Techanchuk endured a long evening in goal, facing 20 shots, but he also collected six saves.
The Golden Eagles return to action when they host Green Bay, 12 p.m., Sunday at ORU Soccer Complex.
