TULSA, Okla. -The Golden Eagles fall to conference foe Eastern Illinois, 2-1, on Friday afternoon to fall to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in Summit League play.
Despite a late goal in the first half by senior Jarrett Hamilton, the Golden Eagles couldn't overcome the two goal deficit they found themselves in early. Freshman Keeper Nick Petolick had three saves and gave up two goals.
Eastern Illinois (5-5-1, 1-1-1 Summit League) got an early goal from senior Ryan Child in the fifth minute on a rebounded shot by freshman Jake Brillhart. An own goal by freshman Cody Lofgren gave the Panthers the 2-0 lead in18th minute. Sophomore Tyler Kelley saved five shots for the Panthers and gave up just one goal.
The Golden Eagles are in action on Sunday, October 9, when they face former conference foe Valparaiso on the road.
