TULSA, Okla.--A special dedication of the Case Soccer Complex will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22 during the halftime of the Oral Roberts University men's soccer game against UMKC. The game begins at 5 p.m.
ORU Athletics will be dedicating the complex and honoring Mike and Pat Case, who were key donors on the project. Other principal donors being honored include the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation, Joel and Kirsten LaCourse, Travis Detter and Spectrum Paint Co., and The Tulsa World.
Enhancements at the Case Soccer Complex include additional seating with a grandstand that seats nearly 1,000 fans. A new press box was also added.
The Golden Eagles ( 4-9-0, 1-2 Summit League) are one game back of first place with three games to play and are still in contention for a conference title, but they are currently in last place in the standings. Saturday could be a must win game, and they will have to win it without leading scorer Jarrett Hamilton, who suffered a concussion against Houston Baptist. Freshman keeper Nick Petolick has played well in his first season with ORU, saving 47 shots in 12 games.
UMKC (5-7-1, 2-1 Summit League) is currently in a three-way tie for first with Western Illinois and IPFW in the Summit League standings. They are led by junior David Sarabia with two goals and two assists. Sophomore keepers Kevin Corby and Kyle Martin have combined for 55 saves and 18 goals allowed this season for the Kangaroos.
