Golden Eagles head to Colorado for weekend matches
TULSA, Okla. - It will be a pair of mile high tests over the weekend for the Oral Roberts men's soccer team as they had to Colorado for matches at Air Force on Friday evening and Denver on Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles seek its first win of the season in Friday night's match at Air Force. The Falcons, 2-2-1 overall and winless at home, are coming off a pair of wins at Penn and Villanova. Freshman Abinadi Samayoa enters the contest as their top goal scorer with two, while Brian Klazura and Conor Henry each have one of their own.
Air Force leads the overall series between the two schools, 0-2-1, taking the last match on Sept. 9, 2010, 4-0. The battle on the campus of the Air Force Academy is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
On Sunday, ORU will be the closing opponent in a five match homestand for the Denver Pioneers. The Pioneers, who face Presbyterian on Friday evening, enter the weekend with an overall record of 1-1-2. They defeated Saint Louis, 2-1, in their previous match, after a set of ties against Drexel and UC-Davis.
Both Air Force and Denver were tied in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation preseason coaches' poll.
