TULSA, Okla. - Following a tough non-conference loss on Tuesday night against Oklahoma Wesleyan, the Oral Roberts men's soccer team looks to restart the conference campaign with a victory on Saturday evening as they host Eastern Illinois at 7 p.m. at the Case Soccer Complex.
In Tuesday's loss to OKWU, 6-2, Tom Adams and Cody Lofgren teamed up for both the Golden Eagles (2-11, 1-3) goals in the 63rd and 68th minutes as Lofgren set Adams up for a pair of breakaway goals. The two goals moved Adams' total to four on the season, leading the way for the Golden Eagles.
The Jaguars of Eastern Illinois come to Tulsa on Saturday with the same overall record as the Golden Eagles, but have dropped each of their first four matches in Summit League action. In their most recent conference matchup against Western Illinois, they fell 2-1, despite a goal from sophomore Will Butler in the 83rd minute.
On the season, the Golden Eagles have one more goal than the 13 that the Jaguars have put in the net. Senior Jordan Collins and sophomores Tayron Martin and Chris Boswell have netted the most balls for the Jaguars this season with two each.
Evan Turner and Garrett Creasor have split time in goal for the Jaguars, picking up 25 and 31 saves respectively. Creasor was in goal during the two EIU victories over Lipscomb, 2-1, on Aug. 26 and versus Loyola, 2-0, on Sept. 18.
In his 13th season at the helm of the Jaguars, head coach Adam Howarth holds an 88-124-21 career record. His 2011 squad finished toward the bottom of the conference after starting the season 6-5.
Last season, the Jaguars topped the Golden Eagles in Illinois, 2-1.
