TULSA, Okla. - Signing day is in full swing and the Oral Roberts men's soccer team has made its own addition.
Submitting his letter of intent to head coach Steve Hayes, Trent Laffoon is set to join the Golden Eagles next season. Laffoon, a native of Norman, Okla., is the brother is current Golden Eagle Trevor Laffoon.
"It makes me glad that I'm coming to ORU because I like that I will receive a liberal arts education," said Trent. "By attending ORU, I plan to study engineering to get a good job, grow in my faith and continue to grow as a soccer player."
Laffoon helped Norman North High School to a 6A state championship in 2012. The midfielder, defender combo also plays club soccer for the Celtic '95 Green team, a part of the Norman Youth Soccer Association. In the classroom, Laffoon gets the job done as well, holding a 3.8 GPA and was a member of the 2010 United States Achievement Academy.
HAYES ON LAFFOON: "Trent is a quality all around person. He is destined to succeed both on the field and in the classroom. With his versatility, he will be competitive in a number of positions. This is an exciting day for ORU soccer."
