Track and Field athletes participate in qualifying events

TULSA, Okla. - With the NCAA Indoor National Championships approaching next weekend, several Oral Roberts track and field athletes had an opportunity to reach nationals as they participated in the ISU Qualifier and the Arkansas Final Qualifier.

In the men's pole vault at Arkansas, Dustin Gehrke finished 16th in the event, clearing a height of 5.15 meters.

Other men's jumpers participating at the event was Morrie Turner in the long jump and Tim Jones in the triple jump. Turner finished as the second top jumper in his event with a length of 7.42 meters and Jones reached 14.60 meters.

Madison Reynolds continues to run well in her freshman campaign, finishing third in the 400-meter dash at the ISU meet with a time of 54.49. Reynolds hasn't finished any lower than third at collegiate meets.

In the men's 400, Jeffery Gibson had the second best time in the event, crossing the line at 47.08. Fellow All-Southland runner Tyler Banks competed in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.23.

The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held in Fayetteville, Ark., this upcoming Saturday and Sunday.
