Tulsa, Okla.—The Oral Roberts track and field teams opened up the outdoor season in impressive fashion this weekend, as the women grabbed third place and the men snagged second at the Tulsa Duels hosted by the University of Tulsa.
The women’s 100 meter dash featured a 3rd place finish by Cornisha Wilkerson (12.22), while TK Whitfield also logged third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.25.
Whitney Mills-Doyeto continued her strong season, turning in a 56.73 which was good enough for a first place finish in the 400 meter dash.
ORU grabbed two of the top four spots in 100 meter hurdles, as Camila Pirelli (16.33) placed 3rd, and Jasmine Cotton (17.76) placed 4th. Cotton also earned a 2nd place finish in 400 meter hurdles with a 1:12.18.
Not to be outdone, Kristen Radcliff garnered a first place finish of her own with 6:55.28 time in the 2000 meter steeplechase.
Lauren McFarland out-dueled Brianna Steel of Tulsa for first place in pole vault with a score of 3.71m.
Pirelli added to the list of ORU standouts with a first place (40.51m) toss in the javelin throw.
Chafausipo continued his success with a first place nod in long jump (7.41m). Darron Baker earned second with a 6.53m.
The men and women are back in competition on April 2 in Lubbock, Texas.
