ORU Sweeps Summit Track and Field Athlete of the Week Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. - Oral Roberts' Jack Whitt and TK Whitfield were named Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of March 28-April 3.

Whitt (Norman, Okla.) garners his fourth career Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honor and first of the season after winning the pole vault at the Texas Tech Invitational.  The sophomore recorded a personal best, meet record, stadium record and the number one mark in the nation with a height of 18'3.75" (5.58m). 

Whitfield (Arlington, Texas) earns her first career Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week award after recording two top-five finishes and league-bests at the Texas Tech Invitational.  Individually, she placed fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 55.69, a league-best time this season.  Whitfield also was part of the second place 4x400 meters team with a time of 3:42.75, also a league-best and the 49th best time in the nation.
