Austin, TX—Fredrick Brown led the way for the Oral Roberts University track and field team Friday afternoon, snagging an impressive third place finish with a 15.59m score in the triple jump at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, hosted by the University of Texas.
Brown’s third place finish came just short of first place Jamal Wilson of Texas (16.23m) and second place Preston Woodard (15.61m) of Prairie View.
Clive Chafausipo logged the other top-10 finish for ORU, scoring a 7.62m in men’s long jump section ‘A’. Ngonidzashe Makusha of Florida State was the afternoon’s top finisher in the section, turning in an 8.40m.
Other ORU highlights for the event include Jeffery Gibson logging a preliminary score of 51.91 in the 400 meter hurdles. The time was good enough to qualify Gibson for a spot in the finals on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles will resume action once again on Saturday morning.
