Ndasym and Whitt Snag First Place Finishes at Oklahoma

Norman, Okla.—The Oral Roberts University track and field team was led by the first place finishes of Sheila Ndasym and Jack Whitt, as they were back in action Saturday afternoon at the University of Oklahoma.

A junior distance runner from Eldoret, Kenya, Ndasym led the way for the ORU women, snagging first overall in the women’s 3000 meter run with a time of 10:22.36.

Ellie Holmes rounded out the top-five in the 3000 meter with a 12:06.31.

Kristen Radcliff put on a strong showing of her own for the ORU women, as the junior from Forgan, Oklahoma logged second place in the 1500 meter run with a 4:37.39.

ORU was impressive once again in the 4x100, as the team of Whitney Mills-Doyeto, Miesha Dinkins, TK Whitfield and Cornisha Wilkerson placed second with a time of 46.12.

The women’s high jump featured Lauren McFarland landing sixth place out of 15 with a 3.75m jump.

Camila Pirelli was another top-finisher for the Golden Eagles, as the junior tossed a 12.36m in women’s shot put.

On the men’s side of the action, Clive Chafausipo earned a sixth place mark in the men’s 200 meter dash, scoring a 21.38 and finishing just ahead of ninth place Brandon Williams who logged a 21.64.

Jonah Lagat battled his way to a fourth place finish with a 4:01.33 in the men’s 1500m run, while Shadrack Koech was a top-finisher in the 3000m run, logging third with a time of 8:49.00.

Whitt turned in yet another first place finish for the Golden Eagles, jumping a 5.25m in pole vault, and finishing in front of Dustin Gehrke who snagged fourth with a 4.65.

The Golden Eagles resume competition next Friday and Saturday at Arkansas.
