The Oral Roberts track and field team wrapped up day two of the Summit Championships with the women holding on to fourth place with 34 points on nine events scored, and the men standing in seventh with eight points on eight events scored.
Kristen Radcliff earned a top finish for the ORU women in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:55.40. Second place in the event belonged to Steffi Minson of Southern Utah, who turned in an 11:04.18.
Camila Pirelli built on her outstanding day one performance, scoring a second place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:40.81. Pirelli fell just short of first place Whitney Carlson of North Dakota State, who turned in a 2:40.30.
Pirelli was back at it in the women’s long jump, snagging a tie for fourth overall with a jump of 5.14m. North Dakota State’s Twila Moser also jumped a 5.14m, while first overall went to Carlson who logged a 6.40m.
The women’s javelin throw belonged to Pirelli, who notched first place in the event with a toss of 35.15m, well in front of second place Cheyenne Thatcher of Southern Utah, who scored a 34.84m.
Seth Lewandowski was back in action for the men, finishing third in the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:04.13. Lewandowski then logged sixth in the 110m hurdles (18.30), third in the pole vault (3.95m) and fifth in the javelin throw (38.80m).
ORU is back in action on Saturday for the final day of competition.
