Eugene, OR-The Oral Roberts track and field team wrapped up the NCAA preliminaries Saturday afternoon, and will now be sending three qualifiers to the NCAA Finals next weekend.
Friday's lone results featured Jeffery Gibson placing 17th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 51.97. To qualify for the NCAA Championships, Gibson would have needed to place in the top-12.
On Saturday, Fredrick Brown landed 18th overall in the triple jump with a three-round best of 15.45m. Brown also would have needed a 12th place finish to qualify for next week's finals.
With the preliminaries now in the books, ORU will send Thursday's top-finishers, Jack Whitt (7th, pole vault), Clive Chafausipo (4th, long jump), and Gibson (6th, 400m hurdles) to the NCAA Championships on June 8-11 in Des Moines, Iowa.
