ELMHURST, Ill. - The Summit League named Oral Roberts track & field athlete Jack Whitt (Norman, Okla.) its Male Athlete of the Month as announced by the league office on Friday.
Whitt earns the Male Athlete of the Month honor following his second-place performance at the NCAA Championships earlier this month. The Norman, Okla., native cleared 17’ 6.5" in the pole vault at the national championships en-route to being named an All-American, his second honor of the year.
At The Summit League Outdoor Championships, Whitt won the pole vault for the second-straight season with a meet record height of 18’ 0.5" after claiming the title during the indoor season as well.
The sophomore was named the league Indoor and Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year and finished the outdoor season with the second-best jump in the nation at 18’ 4.5", a personal-best and school record, at the Texas Relays.
