Whitt Wins Third Straight Athlete of the Year Award

Tulsa, Okla.- Jack Whitt was named the Summit League Field Indoor Athlete of the Year for a third-straight year as voted on by the Summit League's nine head coaches.

Whitt Claimed the award after becoming a three-time defending Summit League pole vault champion and finishing third (5.50m) at the NCAA championships for the second consecutive season. He was also named first team All-American for the third year in a row, making him the first three-time Indoor track and field All-American in conference history.

Whitt was also given three Summit League Athlete of the Week awards this season, and finished the year ranked No. 3 in the nation after an extended stint at No.1

Whitt will continue his quest for an NCAA national championship in the outdoor season, which begins Saturday March 24 as ORU competes in the UTEP Springtime Classic in El Paso, Texas.
