ELMHURST, Ill. - Oral Roberts' Jack Whitt and UMKC's Courtney Frerichs were named The Summit League's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances March 20-26.
MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jack Whitt, Oral Roberts

Whitt claims his sixth career Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honor and first of the season after a first-place finish in the pole vault at the UTEP Springtime Meet. The junior cleared a league-best 18'0" (5.50m), which also ties for the second-best mark it nation. Whitt's honor sets a new league record for career Athlete of the Week awards, which he previously held at five.

WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Courtney Frerichs, UMKC

Frerichs captures her first career Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week award after recording a first-place finish and setting a school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Missouri Relays. Her time of 10:42.23 was 52.41 faster than the previous record, is tops in the league and ranks 10th in the nation. Frerichs' honor marks the first for a UMKC female outdoor track and field athlete since 2005.
