TULSA, Okla.-It was a sweep by the ORU track and field programs as Kristen Radcliff and Shadrack Koech took home the top awards at the annual ORU Athletics All-Sports Banquet, Wednesday night at the Doubletree Hotel at Warren Place.
Radcliff earned the First Lady's Cup, presented to the top senior female student-athlete after breaking her own 3,000-meter steeplechase record, finishing first in three cross country meets this year, and earning all-region honors. She has a 3.6 GPA in graduate school after earning her Bachelor's of Science in health and exercise science with a 3.78 GPA and has volunteered with multiple groups, including the Positive Progress program, Jenks Elementary School and Special Olympics.
Koech is a three-time All-Summit League selection and finished seventh overall at the 2012 Summit League Championships. He had four top-10 finishes in his senior season, including a runner-up finish in the ORU-TU Duel. The bilingual (English and Swahili) student-athlete carries a 3.75 GPA in accounting and is a member of the Accounting Honor Society. He has also tutored students at Greater Grace Academy, a school for children with autism, and has volunteered with the Tulsa International Fellowship.
All 16 ORU athletic teams were recognized during the banquet, and Team MVP awards were handed out. Below is a list of 2011-12 Team MVPs:
