TULSA—Oral Roberts men’s golf head coach Lance Watson announced today the signing of Trevor McInroe (Plano, Texas) and Scott Newell (Katy, Texas) to National Letters-of-Intent to continue their golf careers at ORU.
McInroe is currently a senior at Plano West High School, while Newell is a senior at Cinco Ranch High School.
“Both Trevor and Scott have had outstanding high school careers,” said Watson. “They are accomplished enough at that level that I expect them to come in as freshman and contribute immediately.”
McInroe is a first-team all-district performer and a three-year letter winner at Plano West. He was a 2010 regional medalist qualifier and helped West to a 209 district championship.
Newell, who was born in Tulsa and has grandparents in Broken Arrow, is a five-time individual medalist at the high school level and in Houston Golf Association events. He was named a team captain earlier this year.
