JONESBORO, Ark.—Despite improving their score, Oral Roberts men’s golf team fell from sixth to ninth in the final round of the Arkansas State Red Wolf Classic, Tuesday at Ridge Pointe Country Club.

The Golden Eagles shot 287 on Tuesday and finished tournament play at 576 (289-287). Shortened to two rounds after rain washed away Monday’s first round, the tournament team championship was won by UALR (566).

Bryan Boaz led the way for the Golden Eagles, enjoying the third top 10 finish of his career and his first this season after shooting 4-under par 140, including a career-best 69 on Tuesday. Boaz tied with five other players, including teammate Jake Spencer (70-70).

Boaz and Spencer finished five strokes behind individual champion Brandy Garon of Meridian CC.

David Holtgrewe finished tied for 30th after shooting 146 (73-73), while Bill Barbour (75-75) and Garrett Moore (75-75) tied for 62nd at 150.

The Golden Eagles next look to defend their title at the Summit League Championships, April 18-19, in Primm, Nev. ORU is the two-time defending tournament champion.
