LAYTON, Utah-ORU broke 300 for the second straight round, and the fourth time this year, but finished sixth overall with a three-round total of 886 at the 2011 Wildcat Invitational. UALR shot a tournament-low 280 to catch Sacramento State, and the two teams tied for the team championship at 868.

The 886 shot by the Golden Eagles was by far the best tournament of the fall, 20 shots better than the 906 they finished with in the first tournament.

David Holtgrewe finished with an even par 72 in the final round, completing his tournament in the red for the first time this year. Holtgrewe's total of 215 (73-70-72) put him at -1 for the tournament in a tie for fifth place.

Shannon Allen's third round 73 gave him a 220 (74-73-73, +4) and was also his best round of the year, putting him in a tie for 16th overall. Trevor McInroe (81-72-75-228, +12) finished tied for 37th overall, while Bryan Boaz (77-72-81-230, +14) tied for 45th and had his best final score of the year, besting his 233 in his only other competition.

Scott Newell's 77-77-78-232 put him at +16 for the tournament and tied him for 51st overall.

Allen also finished tied with the second-best average on par three holes (2.92, -1), while Holgrewe's 3.90 average (-3) on par four holes tied him for the tournament lead.

ORU will compete again next week in the Bill Ross Intercollegiate in Kansas City. The tournament will serve as the fall season finale for the Golden Eagles.
